I started this study of paintings whilst living high up on the Carneddau mountains in Eryri, Wales. It was a time of escapism and solitude. I spent my evenings wandering the hills and exploring the streams that cut through the landscape, making their way down to the valleys below. I loved the rhythm of the land, the shifting skies, the golden glow that lingered that high up on the hills that seemed like magic. This is a painting created from the studies I made during that peaceful time.
