OPEN WATER COACHING - 2nd May
TIME & LOCATION
Swimming in open water presents a totally different environment to the indoor pool or Lido. Shelving bottoms, deep water, varying depths and temperatures, weather, waves, underwater obstacles, weeds, fish/marine life, debris, and of course our own overactive imaginations. Many of these can send even experienced indoor swimmers into a complete panic.
These one to one sessions are designed to help swimmers keen to improve their own confidence and technique in the water, developing strategies to deal with changing conditions and looking at ways to improve our swimming stroke. Whether your goal is to go faster, be more efficient or reach your swimming 'zen' I offer hour-long coaching sessions to help you improve.
Please note we will not spend the entire hour in the water, there is much to talk about and discuss so please do bring a flask with a hot drink and plenty warm clothes, the temperature of the sea can be chilly at this time of year and how long we stay in the water for will be guided by our own bodies, we always get out when we feel cold. There is no endurance involved, this is about having an enjoyable, safe experience so you will want to swim again, and again, and again!
What to bring?
Bring what you usually swim in
A swim hat if you wish
A towel and/or changing robe
Warm clothes to put on afterwards
I also think swim booties are a great idea if you have them
We will meet at Avon Beach at the Coffee Cabin at 11am, directions are available via the map.
After I have recieved your booking form, we can discuss specific outcomes for the day.
